The widow of PC Andrew Harper has called the potential early release of prisoners in England and Wales "deplorable".
PC Harper was killed in 2019, with three teenage males found guilty of manslaughter.
The Sentencing Act passed in January means thousands of prisoners will be eligible to be released earlier.
However, Prime Minister Andy Burnham has promised to review the policy.
Speaking yesterday he said "I can't say that I can change the policy completely, but I will look at it in detail before we go further forward."
So is it time to rethink early release for prisoners?

The BBC has found that half of councils in England are encouraging pavement parking with marked bays and signage.
But in Wales, pavement parking is also causing outrage.
One survey by Living Streets - the UK charity for everyday walking - has shown that 9 in 10 councillors in Wales said they had received complaints about pavement parking.
Living Streets also found that 83% of people in Wales think pavement parking is a common, large or very large problem.
Last week, councillors in Cardiff called for a complete ban on pavement parking.
So is it time for a blanket ban on pavement parking?

And finally, Swedish car manufacturer Volvo is leaving the door open for the return of an estate car model.
Their CEO Håkan Samuelsson has said a new estate car would be "an interesting opportunity".
In 2023, Volvo abandoned estate cars in the UK as it said the appetite had fallen to "very low levels".
