Andy Burnham pauses the prisoner early release scheme
More than 5,000 prisoners including killers were due to be freed from September.
The Prime Minister has announced that he is pausing a plan for the early release of prisoners which was due to come into effect in September. Also: Iran accuses Britain of complicity in American attacks and warns bases here are a legitimate target. And Katarina Johnson-Thompson is one of a number of big names to withdraw from the Commonwealth Games hours before the opening ceremony.
