Nick Mohammed presents music inspired by Iberian rhythms as the Spanish National Orchestra makes its Proms debut with works by Manuel De Falla, Maurice Ravel and Joaquín Rodrigo.
Nick Mohammed presents the Proms debut of the Spanish National Orchestra from the Royal Albert Hall. Under chief conductor David Afkham, the orchestra performs music inspired by Spain, from Ravel's mesmerising Boléro, evoking the Spanish dance of the same name, to Rodrigo's beloved Concierto de Aranjuez, which depicts the royal gardens south of Madrid, with acclaimed Spanish guitarist Rafael Aguirre as soloist. The concert also features the sun-drenched dances of Manuel de Falla's The Three-Cornered Hat, capturing the heat and vibrant dance rhythms of Andalusia.
Nick is joined by Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara to celebrate the Latin dance rhythms that run through the evening's music.
