Could Cambridge be going Underground?

The latest idea for an underground transport solution for Cambridge has been proposed.

Plans for a tunnel running from Cambridge central station, through the city centre and out to the west, have been put forward by independent transport group Cambridge Connect.

But are they likely to arrive, or hit the buffers like previous proposals?
