What's been happening so far at the Commonwealth Games?

Gymnast Reuben Ward won gold for Team Scotland

The Commonwealth Games started just a few days ago with an amazing opening ceremony.

The 10 day event will see around 3,000 athletes from 74 Commonwealth nations and territories competing.

But athletes have already been winning lots of medals!

Currently, Australia have won the most with 39 medals overall.

Let's take a look at who has won so far for the UK teams...

Scotland

Angharad Evans won gold for Team Scotland

Scotland are hosting the games.

They have won four gold and two silver medals so far.

Angharad Evans, who won gold in the pool, said that the crowd in Glasgow really helped her.

She said it wasn't the biggest crowd but it was "the loudest and the most passionate".

England

England's Mark Swan won the first gold of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games

England have the most medals of the UK nations so far.

Currently, they have four golds, nine silvers and six bronze medals to make a total of 19 medals so far.

The 25-year-old completed a lift of 222kg. That's more than three times his body weight!

Wales

Team Wales looking very pleased with their medals!

Wales currently have one silver and three bronze medals.

But they still have lots of athletes yet to compete, could today be their day for a gold medal?

Northern Ireland

Bethany Firth won Team Northern Ireland's first medal

So far, Northern Ireland have won a silver and a bronze medal, both in the pool!

Six-time Paralympic champion Bethany Firth won NI's first medal as she claimed a bronze. And then Barry McClements got a silver.
