Speaking of the new gaffer, he's been chatting to tonight's commentator Alasdair Lamont.

Here's what Johansson had to say.

  2. Give youth a chancepublished at 19:21 BST 23 July

    Motherwell v HB Torshavn (19:45)

Not only will Motherwell fans get the chance to see their new signings in action, it's also the first competitive game from Jens Berthel Askou's successor Alfred Johannson.

Looking at Johansson's CV it's clear he puts a big emphasis on young talent and giving younger players a chance and there's a glimpse of that in his team selection for tonight's Conference qualifier.

19-year-old Booth will make his competitive senior debut while fellow teenagers Samuel Ngandu, Jack Dalziel, Lucas Weir, Aaron Buchanan, Robbie Hunter, Luca Ross and Olly Whyte are on the bench.

In fact, the only players on Motherwell's bench who aren't academy graduates are Regan Charles-Cook and Emmanuel Longelo.

Now my maths isn't the best but my calculations the average age of Motherwell's squad tonight is just under 21 years of age (20.7 to be exact).

    Motherwell v HB Torshavn (19:45)

The notable absence from the Motherwell team is Elijah Just who joined English Championship side Swansea City earlier this week.

The New Zealand international became a fan favourite at Fir Park after a standout first season in Scottish football before going on to impress on the world stage, scoring three goals in three games for New Zealand at the World Cup.

The small positive for 'Well fans is that the young winger departed for a club record fee just one season after landing in ML1.

There's competitive debuts for all five of Motherwell's summer signings tonight.

Alex Paulsen, who joined on loan from Bournemouth, starts between the sticks while outfield Jake Girdwood-Reich, Martin Moormann, Dylan Williams and Willy Vogt all start.

There's also a professional debut for academy graduate Mikey Booth.

    FT: Malisheva 2-0 Hibernian

We'll leave the Hibs game for now and take a tea-time break before some more continental qualifiers later on.

Read Thomas Duncan's match report here.

Head to our Hibs page for reaction to their calamitous defeat.

And come back to this page at 19:00 BST as we look ahead to Motherwell's Conference League second-round qualifier against HB Torshavn at Fir Park.

Sportsound will be live from then too. What more could you want?

  9. Postpublished at 17:33 BST 23 July

    FT: Malisheva 2-0 Hibernian

Almost exactly three years ago today, Hibs suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to the Andorran side Inter Club D'Escaldes.

A thumping 6-1 Easter Road win in the second leg saved any further embarrassment, though.

They could do with a similar turnaround next week.

    FT: Malisheva 2-0 Hibernian

Hibs were unbeaten away from home in Europe last season against Midtjylland, Partizan Belgrade, and Legia Warsaw.

They drew with their Danish opponents before a 2-0 away win against Partizan, and drew 3-3 after extra time in Warsaw.

    This is quite the contrast.

The Malisheva fans jump for joy. What a result for them, the best in their short history.

It is one of Hibs' worst ever. The only positive is they can fix it next week at Easter Road.

  12. FULL-TIME Malisheva 2-0 Hibernianpublished at 17:23 BST 23 July

Hibs trail by two goals after the first leg of their Conference League qualifier.

Goals either side of the interval for hosts Malisheva helped them to an excellent home win in Kosovo.

David Gray's side were disjointed and lacked composure across the park for large parts of the game, with the hosts well worth their 2-0 win.

An Easter Road comeback is needed if they want to continue playing European football this season. t

GOAL Malisheva 2-0 Hibernianpublished at 90'

    Valmir Nafiu

Disastrous for Hibs. Elation for Malisheva.

A swift counter through the middle of the park is rounded off smartly as Nafiu lifts his strike into the roof of the net.

You can't say they haven't deserved it.

  14. Postpublished at 88'

    Malisheva 1-0 Hibernian

A thunderous attempt from the home side almost catches out Raphael Sallinger, but he plucks it out of the air before it flies into the top corner.

  15. Postpublished at 85'

    Malisheva 1-0 Hibernian

Hibs are piling on the pressure, but there's no plan to it.

Some passes side to side, followed by a lump into the box.

It's all a bit desperate now.

  16. Postpublished at 82'

    Malisheva 1-0 Hibernian

Azeem Abdulai replaces Josh Mulligan for Hibs.

Someone needs to step up for the visitors here.

  17. Postpublished at 78'

    Malisheva 1-0 Hibernian

A lull in the game now. More disjointed play from Hibs.

A half-chance from the hosts as they try to dink it over Sallinger from 30 yards, but he caught it with ease.

Just over 10 minutes to go.

  18. CLOSE!published at 70'

    Malisheva 1-0 Hibernian

A close-range header from Donart Vitija is easily held by Raphael Salligner as the hosts continue to threaten.

    Another warning for Hibs.

  19. Double Hibs swappublished at 69'

    Malisheva 1-0 Hibernian

Joe Newell and Thibault Klidje are on.

Martin Boyle and Owen Elding are off.

  20. Postpublished at 68'

    Malisheva 1-0 Hibernian

The Hibs players are all huddled on the touchline and getting some instructions from David Gray, and having a refreshment too.

Fear not, it's not a hydration break though, there's a Malisheva player down needing treatment, hence the break in play.
