Family tributes to four men who died in crash

The families of four men who died after a car hit a lamp-post on Merseyside have paid tribute to them.

The black Seat Cupra had been travelling from Liverpool towards Knowsley, before it came off the road and crashed on Liverpool Road, Huyton, just before 02:00 BST on Friday.

Jack Diggle, 23, Benjamin Dooley, 23, Andrew Roberts, 24, and Craig Shackleton-Brady, 26, all died at the scene, Merseyside Police said.

Officers are continuing to appeal for information about what happened.

The families of all four men released their tributes together through police.

Jack Diggle's mum said: "Jack was kind, quiet, thoughtful and loving. He adored his family, and we loved him with all our hearts.

"Jack was blessed with a wonderful group of friends, many of whom had been by his side for most of his life.

"He loved playing football with them and was a proud Everton supporter.

"Jack and I went out for a meal together on Thursday. It was such a lovely time, just mother and son, enjoying each other's company. Little did I know that it would be the last time we would spend together.

"Our Jack, our gentle giant, we love you beyond words and will love you forever. Rest peacefully, son."

Benjamin Dooley's mum Kerry said: "My son, my world, my best friend. It was me and you always.

"My life is ripped apart and I don't know how I will do life without you. We did everything together.

"You was the kindest person I knew with a heart of gold. Do anything for anyone. Loved by everyone who met you. I can't describe how much I will miss you."

His sister Demi said he was "the one who always gave me advice and looked out for me".

"I miss you so much already, the laughs we had and all the memories I will cherish for ever," she said.

Andrew Roberts was "full of kindness", his family said, and his dad, also called Andrew, said he was "the best son anyone could ask for".

Mum Linda said: "My sweetheart boy could never do no wrong, my life will never be the same with you not here. My heart will forever be broken."

His brothers Carl and Thomas said: "Even though you were our younger brother we always looked up to you."

Andrew's sister Chloe and nephews Lewis and Lucas said he was "the best role model", and his partner Kiera said "I am so lost now".

"You were my whole life, and I don't know how I'm going to cope without you, but I promise I'm going to try to stay strong for you," she said.

Craig Shackleton-Brady was a devoted father-of-two and brother who had "a passion for life".

"Anyone who knew Craig will remember his infectious laugh," his family said.

"It had a way of lighting up a room, bringing smiles to those around him and making even ordinary moments feel special.

"His warmth and sense of humour created memories that friends and family will cherish forever.

"Above all, Craig will be remembered for his kind heart, his devotion to his family, and the joy he brought to others."
