Two women arrested after suspected stabbing

Two women have been arrested after a suspected stabbing on Saturday night.

Officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary were called to a roundabout on Evesham Road, Bishops Cleeve near Cheltenham, just after 22:00 BST, to reports that a man had sustained a serious injury.

The suspect had left the scene, but armed police carried out a search of the area and arrested a woman in her 20s near Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, on suspicion of attempted murder at around 05:20 BST on Sunday.

Another woman, in her 50s, was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. Gloucestershire Constabulary confirmed the victim was in hospital in a stable condition.

The force added that the victim and suspected perpetrator knew each other, and officers were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

The arrested women are in police custody, and scene guards are in place at the roundabout on Sunday while police investigate.
