A 21-year-old man has died in a crash involving a car and a lorry on the A95 in Moray.

The accident happened at about 21:15 on Friday between Aberlour and the B9138 at Marypark.

The crash involved a Renault Clio and a Scania lorry.

The man - who was driving the car - was pronounced dead at the scene, and police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The driver of the lorry was assessed by paramedics at the scene and no other injuries were reported.

The road was closed for several hours to allow an investigation into the cause of the accident to be carried out.

Sgt Chris Bain said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the man who died at this extremely difficult time.

"Our inquiries into the crash are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or saw either vehicle prior to get in touch with officers.

"I'd also ask that those driving in the area at the time with dash-cam footage review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation."
