A man has been charged with murder after an 18-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash with a car.

Kent Police said the crash happened at about 20:15 BST on Friday, on Chestfield Road, in front of the Chestfield Barn pub in Whitstable.

The motorcyclist died at the scene and his next of kin has been informed.

Connor Todd, 19, of Portlight Place, Seasalter, has since been charged with murder and will appear at Margate Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, the force said.

Police said an 18-year-old man attended Canterbury police station voluntarily on Friday at 21:50 BST and was arrested after the crash.

He has since been released on bail while the investigation continues.

The following day, a 19-year-old man attended Canterbury Police station and was also arrested.

Kent Police is appealing for witnesses.
